Therapy
Physical Therapist work to restore a patient's physical activity following an accident or illness.
After evaluation, the Physical Therapist will develop a treatment program unique to each individual to help decrease deficits and restore function.
A Physical Therapist evaluates components of movement including:
· Strength · Range of motion · Flexibility · Balance · Posture · Body mechanics · Coordination
Occupational Therapist does similiar type therapy rehabilitation that a Physical Therapist does except that the Occupational Therapist's goal is to help you to become better able to cope with chores and such in everyday situations. Examples would be to help you be able to dress yourself, take a bath or shower, cook, shop, do laundry, etc. Things you did before your injury or illness. These exercises or approaches are different according to your problem.
Speech Therapy is a health care profession focused on evaluation and treatment of children and adults with speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders. Speech-Language Therapists are professionals who are specially qualified to work with people who have speech, language, hearing and / or swallowing disorders. Thus their work in real life encompasses wider aspects of human communication.
